In 2011, driven by a lifelong interest in mediation, Cheryl connected with the Dayton Mediation Center and immersed herself in their training and education program. It became clear immediately that she found her calling. Mediation felt like second nature, a natural talent that allowed her to help others navigate complex conflicts. That realization led her to leave the property management industry and become a full-time mediator.

Over the past 14 years, she has mediated cases across a wide range of subject matters, including small claims, landlord/tenant disputes, visitation and custody matters, workplace and business conflicts, neighbor disputes, and, most importantly, divorce, marriage, and family issues. She believes listening is the most critical skill a mediator brings to the table. For many clients, it may be the first time someone has truly taken the time to listen—without judgment or opinion—to their concerns. By slowing down the thought process and talking through their issues, clients can achieve clarity on the underlying problems and identify actionable solutions.

In preparation for mediation, she works with each person individually and privately to help them clarify their priorities and goals. This personalized approach ensures that they feel confident and prepared for the conversations ahead, enabling them to reach outcomes that align with their values and needs. She is deeply committed to this work and finds it to be the most fulfilling and gratifying role she’s ever had the honor of undertaking. Joining the team at Resolvium as a mediator in the Ohio area was a natural step, allowing me to bring my expertise to more families in need.

As a mediator, she strives to remain neutral and unbiased, fostering a safe and respectful environment where clients can speak openly and honestly. She guides them in asking the right questions, providing information, and engaging in meaningful dialogue to reach agreements and make decisions that feel right for them. Her goal is to empower clients to maintain control over decisions that directly impact their lives and to find a path forward that works for everyone involved.

When she’s not mediating or preparing clients for their sessions, she also enjoys working as a realtor, helping individuals and families buy their first home, dream home, or sell their current property. Outside of work, she is a proud mom to two adult children and a grandma to two delightful grandkids. Her weekends are often spent cheering them on at volleyball, basketball, and baseball games—a cherished way to stay connected with her family and recharge.
