I’m Marita Robinson — a mediator, attorney, and mother dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate the transition of divorce with compassion, clarity, and dignity. I combine my personal insight and professional experience to create a safe, supportive environment where you can find resolution and move forward with confidence.

Having witnessed firsthand how overwhelming and adversarial the traditional legal system can be, I am passionate about offering a healthier alternative through mediation. Divorce mediation is a collaborative and cost-effective process that empowers couples to make informed, values-based decisions about parenting, property, and their future. My role is to guide you through that process with respect, neutrality, and care.

After earning my degree in psychology and serving in the Peace Corps, I attended CUNY School of Law because of its strong commitment to public service and human-centered advocacy. Over my career, I’ve worked as a public defender, tribal court judge, in-house counsel for local government, and as a child welfare and family law attorney and mediator. These experiences have deepened my belief that mediation not only resolves conflict — it can also foster healing, understanding, and lasting peace for families.

I take a trauma-informed, client-centered approach to mediation, meeting each person where they are and helping them craft solutions that truly fit their family’s unique needs.

Originally from northeastern Kansas, I now live with my son in the beautiful Uncompahgre River valley, where I enjoy yoga, running, gardening, reading, and exploring new trails in the high country.
