Annie Willis
Annie brings extensive experience in legal advocacy to Resolvium, having worked for many years as a mediator, Guardian ad Litem, Child and Family Investigator, and Parenting Coordinator/Decision-Maker. Her passion lies in guiding families through challenging transitions with a collaborative and transformative approach to dispute resolution.
She earned her Juris Doctor (JD) from the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law, and her Master of Laws (LLM) in Elder Law and Estate Planning from Western New England University College of Law. Additionally, she holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Regis University and a Paralegal Degree from Fanshawe College. Her mediation journey began in 2009 after completing a 40-hour Mediation Certification with Mares-Dixon and Associates in Denver, Colorado. After living overseas for several years, she returned to the U.S. and deepened her mediation expertise, completing another 40-hour certification with the Dispute Resolution Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 2024, before becoming a Resolvium Partner. She is also an active member of the American Bar Association Dispute Resolution Section.
Throughout her career, she has helped hundreds of families navigate complex and often contentious situations with civility and mutual respect. Rather than focusing on who is “right” or “wrong,” she guides parties toward their own unique resolutions, fostering cooperative relationships—especially when children are involved. As a mediator, she remains neutral, facilitating discussions that empower individuals to craft their own solutions.
Beyond mediation, she has served as an adjunct professor, teaching Business Law, Constitutional Law, Evidence, and Criminal Procedure. Her international experience includes working with UNICEF Pacific as an International Child Protection Technical Consultant and serving as a Senior Legislative Attorney for the National Congress of the Federated States of Micronesia. In this role, she contributed to legislative committees on Health and Social Affairs, Transportation and Infrastructure, and Judiciary and Governmental Operations.
Clients appreciate her ability to create a balanced, supportive environment where they feel heard and empowered to reach meaningful resolutions.
In her free time, she enjoys watching her son figure skate, spending time with her dog Macy, traveling, exploring new cultures, hiking, reading, scuba diving, meditation, yoga, Pilates, and running.
Annie looks forward to working with you toward a peaceful and thoughtful resolution.
